Nadal returns with victory, Shiite record ’36’

Francisco Segundo turned around after losing the first two sets against Rafael Nadal. After winning the third set, the Argentine fought hard in the fourth. But in the end, he did not succeed. The Spanish star returned to Wimbledon with a win. Iga Xiaotek set foot on a new height by giving a good start to the girls’ singles.

Nadal, 38, won the first round 6-4, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 on Tuesday in a bid to win his third Grand Slam this year.

This is the first time since 2019 that two-time champion Nadal is playing at Wimbledon. Anxiety was aroused about his game in this year’s event due to a foot injury. He played in the French Open with this injury. He played every match there with painkiller injections.

He did not play in the preparatory tournament before Wimbledon. However, he got off to a good start in the main tournament.

Nadal holds the record for most men’s Grand Slam wins at 22, having won this year’s Australian Open and French Open. Now he is running towards the calendar Grand Slam.

On the same day, Shiaotek, the number one player in the women’s singles, defeated Yana Fet of Croatia 6-0, 6-3.

This is the 36th consecutive victory of the Polish star. She became the first woman in the 21st century to achieve this feat. Surpassed Venus Williams’ record of 35 consecutive wins in 2000. Venus’s sister Serena Williams won 34 matches in a row in 2013.

The 21-year-old Xiaotek won six consecutive titles, including the French Open, earlier this month.
